Struggling to create a naturalistic garden in an overgrown vineyard in Bugey, France (near Lyon). Three hectares of brambles, mature woods, a stream and a meadow. With a tiny wooden chalet overlooking the Alps. I'm a retired professor from Lincolnshire and now only think about plants and gardens.
Around the seasons
Forgive the work in progress…
But it will come. Three hectares (six acres) in Bugey (between Lyon and Geneva): an abandoned 18th century vineyard with a tiny wooden chalet. Deciduous and conifer forests, a meadow and a seasonal stream. Drystone terrace walls to uncover. Lowest rainfall for years. Organic, no irrigation, no staking. Wish me luck! Trudy.
Anemone nemorosa, blanda or sylvestris?
As long as they are white I love them. But choosing which to plant under holly tree grove? Advice?
